Lola Burgueño is a postdoctoral researcher in the SOM Research Lab at the Internet Interdisciplinary Institute (IN3), and lecturer in the Faculty of Computer Science, Multimedia and Telecommunications of the Open University of Catalonia (UOC), in Barcelona (Spain). She graduated in Computer Science and Engineering from the University of Málaga in September 2011, earned her master’s degree in Software Engineering and Artificial Intelligence in September 2012 and graduated from her PhD with honors in April 2016. Currently, she is a Spanish Juan de la Cierva Incorporación Fellow.
Her research interests focus mainly on the fields of Software Engineering (SE) and of Model-Driven Software Engineering (MDE). She has made contributions to the application of artificial intelligence techniques to improve software development processes and tools; uncertainty management during the software design phase; model-based software testing, and the design of algorithms and tools for improving the performance of model transformations, among others.
She is an active member of the software engineering community. She has been part of Program Committees and has served as co-chair and organizer in prestigious international conferences such as MODELS, SLE, STAF, ICMT, ECMFA, ICSE AE and ICSOC. She regularly reviews papers for journals such as TSE, JSS, Empirical Soft. Engineering, SoSyM, Computer Standards & Interfaces, IET Software, JOT, Int. J. of Parallel Programming, Computer Sci. Education, etc.
She is a member of the ACM and SISTEDES. She is a member of the Editorial Board of the Journal on Software and Systems Modeling (SoSyM).
