M. Elena Rodríguez González

M. Elena Rodríguez-González received her B.Sc. in Computer Science from the Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya (BarcelonaTech) and a Ph.D. in Interdisciplinary Applications and Problems of Information and Communication Technologies from the Universidad de Alcalá, in 1993 and 2012, respectively. Since June 2001, she has been a lecturer at the Faculty of Computer Science, Multimedia, and Telecommunications in the Universitat Oberta de Catalunya (UOC).

She has participated in several national and international research and innovation projects related to the design, development, deployment, and evaluation of e-learning technology (application of semantic Web to e-learning specifications and standards, e-assessment, and intelligent tutoring systems). She has experience in managing large-scale pilots intended to test e-learning technology in real learning settings. To this end, she has provided teacher training and support in different knowledge fields regarding applying different online learning methodologies and teacher training to better design learning activities and resources. Her current research interests include knowledge representation and artificial intelligence techniques with particular applications in technology-enhanced learning, assessment, and learning analytics.
